 Finca Ros y Trota is a beautiful Mallorcan country house with luxury throughout. It’s an old olive farm, restored and redesigned as a family retreat. It has seven bedrooms and seven bathrooms and all the rooms are bright and airy with elegant antique furniture. The villa is in a private location – set down a long track off from the main Palma road and surrounded by fields, farmland and wooded hills. Beaches, a golf course, and the town of Pollenca are just a few minutes’ drive from here. For larger groups of up to 22 people on holiday together, the villas’ nearest neighbour Finca Trota Petit is down the lane just several hundred yards away.
The villa is full of reminders of its former life as a farm, with wooden farming implements hanging in many of the rooms and the huge stone olive press which now stands in the courtyard in front of the house alongside the attractive water fountain.
Finca Ros y Trota is incredibly spacious with high ceilings and white walls and distinctive architectural features like stone arches and shuttered windows.
On the ground floor of the villa there is a very large dining and living room with satellite television, a dvd player and cd stereo, and a circular antique dining table. There’s a reading area leading into the hall, and a fantastic Mallorcan family dining-kitchen with excellent facilities. There are also two bedrooms – a double room and a twin room – which both have en-suite bathrooms. There’s also another bathroom on this floor, with a sauna.
On the first floor’s another seating area and five bedrooms – one double room with an en-suite bathroom, two twin rooms both with en-suite bathrooms, and one double room and one twin room which share a bathroom. All the bedrooms are airy and bright with views of the countryside around the villa.
In the grounds of Finca Ros y Trota there are lovely lawned gardens and a great pool. There’s a courtyard with shady areas and a table tennis table at the back of the house, and a dining area which catches the late afternoon and evening sun. A shallow flight of stone steps flagged by pillars runs down to the lawn and the pool.
This is a graceful country estate, perfect for groups of up to fourteen people. Every detail here shows the careful design and craftsmanship of this building’s restoration.
